To me the best thing for society is to help society's moral. I agree with everyone else that helping the environment would also be great. If you have ever been to New Orleans the atmosphere there is great. So what could we do to make our city feel better and lively. How about a jazz band on some of the corners downtown or even on the canal. Bringing music to our city would help our society feel more at home and energetic. What else causes people to be outside and enjoying the atmosphere of the city. How about some public art. I know we have those corny moving human figures, but those are horrible. How about some sculptures that people can really appreciate. It also would bring beauty to the city. Something else that would bring people together downtown is some more bars in better areas. So why not put a strip of bars on the canal. It's a beautiful area and one that is cut off from cars so you can enjoy the weather outside too. Then for a couple ideas to help the environment  I would say something to help this gas crisis. So why not make some roads through out the city that are only there for walkers or bikers. they wouldn't have to deal with city traffic and could still get some where quickly. I know we have horse and buggies all over town, but what if we got some bike and buggies like in japan or china that we kind of like taxis. I don't know if these are realistic, but to me they would really help our community out.
